Peel gives Brighton bands some cred

Back in 1978, DJ John Peel was a great ambassador for anything punk or wierd and he waxed lyrical over the Brighton bands when he reviewed the Vaultage 78 album. He also offered live slots to all the bands on the album on his night-time Radio 1 programme. To read the review in full, click on the Peel image.

Next month's issue will feature the Sun's Gary Bushell, who also wrote a very positive review of the same Brighton punk album (he must have read Peel's first). Like Peel, he made the effort to get to Brighton and actually check out what was happening with the bands and the local scene.
